Is your middle name ‘”Worry”?

Well I used to think that it was mine! Worry was such a part of my way of being that I believed it was woven into my identity. I didn’t know any other way to exist that didn’t involve worrying about everything.

And the most terrifying thing for a worry wart is the great unknown that is the future! I thought if only I could get that whole future thing sorted out then I’d be freed from the clutches of Worry and finally able to relax.

Turns out, despite how logical our cultural conditional makes this seem, it simply doesn’t work that way. My decades of worry never did anything beneficial towards my future.

This is why I love the words of beloved spiritual teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh, The best way to take care of the future is to take care of the present moment.
